Irish Ceramic Art, China

I'm currently taking part in a ceramic residency in Fuping, Shaanxi, China. I have travelled here with 12 other Irish ceramic artists, a writer and a photographer/film maker. We are working in Fuping for the month of September 2011 to create the foundation collection for the Irish Pavilion at the Fule International Ceramic Art Museum.

Upcoming exhibitions

It's a busy week for exhibition openings. This Thursday 26th May, 'Then and Now' opens in the Hunt Museum Limerick. This shows new work by Limerick Ceramic Artists (and Tipperary!) inspired by the Hunt Collection. The work will be exhibited beside the original objects. The exhibition opens at 6pm, but continues until the Autumn, so plenty of time to catch it.

Photo of my studio from 1896/97

I was recently sent this photo of my studio by Mark Humphrys and Jackie Lindsay who both have an interest in the history of the Massy-Dawson family - once owners of the Ballinacourty estate in the Glen of Aherlow. The photo was probably taken by Rev. Thomas Enraght Lindsay in 1896 or 1897. You can see more at:
